Ocean First Institute
Dr. Mikki McComb-Kobza is the CEO and Chief Scientist of Ocean First Institute, leading global marine research, conservation, and education efforts. A marine biologist with a Ph.D. in Integrative Biology, her research focuses on shark behavior, biology, and conservation using innovative technologies. Dr. McComb-Kobza has led over 40 under-sea expeditions worldwide and has been featured on National Geographic, BBC, and Discovery Channel’s Shark Week. She is faculty at CU Boulder, Past President of the American Elasmobranch Society, National Fellow of the Explorer’s Club and Women Divers Hall of Fame. Her work impacts marine conservation and education on a global scale.
